WHY IS MY TOILET RUNNING?

There are several reasons for a toilet to keep running.

  • Your flapper valve is worn.
  • Your flush valve is broken.
  • The fill valve is broken or needs adjustment.
  • Your chain from the handle to the flapper valve needs adjusting
  • A combination of several of these things.

IS IT SAFE TO PUT CHEMICAL CLEANERS INTO MY DRAIN SYSTEM?

These cleaners are not very friendly to metal drain piping and can lead to the deterioration of your piping causing leaks. It's best to have a professional handle the problem who has the proper drain auger for the situation.


WHAT SHOULD I DO IF A PIPE BURSTS OR I HAVE A MAJOR LEAK I CAN'T STOP?

You need to turn off the main shut off valve to your home and call a professional. A homeowner should know the location of the main shut off valve for their house and educate family members of its whereabouts.


WHY DOES MY WATER HEATER MAKE POPPING AND CRACKING NOISES?

This is caused by the buildup of sediment, calcium or mineral deposits in the bottom of the tank. It can also be steam if your thermostat is set to high or it is faulty.


HOW COME MY FAUCET DRIPS OR WATER LEAKS FROM THE BASE OF MY SPOUT WHEN I MOVE IT?

Normally this is caused by worn internal parts of a faucet. Another possibility is the deterioration of rubber seals which allows water to seep past. Generally these parts can be replaced or rebuilt.
